Glen Brown

With a foundation built on discipline and a passion for tourism and hospitality, Glen and Sandy Brown bring a unique level of professionalism to every property they manage. Both are ex-members of the New Zealand Defence Force, where Glen served as a Warrant Officer and Sandy in the Band of the Royal NZ Navy before moving to the Events and Protocol Office. Their military background instilled in them a commitment to high standards, strategic planning, and the ability to solve problems with precision.

After their service, they transitioned into the tourism industry, where they assisted with organising global group tours. It was here they honed their skills in complex logistics and customer satisfaction. This expertise is supported by their formal training, with both holding a Level 4 Certificate in Travel, and Glen holding a Level 4 Front-line Management qualification. They are also highly competent on computers and are happy to manage your social media to keep your online presence active while you're away.

Over the last six years, Glen and Sandy have been in full-time management of two properties, where their dedication to excellence has produced measurable results. At one property, they completely revitalised its operations, developing new policies, standard operating procedures, and a comprehensive Staff Operations and Housekeeping Manual. Their efforts culminated in a successful first-time application for Qualmark, where the property was awarded a 4-Star rating.

Their success continued at a second property, which they expertly managed for over four years. Under their management, they entered into the prestigious Hospitality NZ Awards for four consecutive years, earning the title of finalist for Best Motel in New Zealand each time. In 2025, their hard work and unwavering commitment to quality paid off, and the property they managed for over four years was officially named the Best Motel in New Zealand.

Glen and Sandy’s proven track record, from the Royal New Zealand Navy to award-winning motels, makes them the ideal "trusted hand" to ensure your business continues with uninterrupted excellence in your absence.

After having a nightmare experience with one minder (who reassured us he was very experienced and more than capable….), we quickly learnt just how hard it is to find to find not good minders, but excellent minders. After years of Managing properties full-time, we now want to provide properties with a service that we would want to use ourselves. We understand the demanding work that goes into running a successful motel or accommodation. You pour your heart and soul into every detail, and the thought of leaving it in someone else's hands can be daunting.

That's why our core promise is to be The Trusted Hand. We are more than just a temporary replacement; we are experienced professionals who treat your business as our own. Our deep-rooted knowledge of the New Zealand hospitality landscape allows us to handle every challenge with efficiency and a friendly, professional approach.
